Mandaue City: Fat Dois

After my shift, we (with my brother and his wife) went to Fat Dois for dinner. Outside, you'd see a long queue of customers waiting for their priority numbers to be called. Yes, "first come, first serve basis"in accepting and allowing patrons inside the diner.

Upon entry, you'd not find a spacious area. It's packed with people, chairs, tables. I've read reviews and heard friends talk about how small the floor area, or how long the waiting is and understand why many would not give it a 5-star. What did I think? It's a small business which has progressed into a "go-to" joint among gastronomes. You would appreciate that this is a striving business worthy of support from locals because of their fresh take on adding cheese to their dishes. I have not seen any other bistro with the same concept.

Their menu is limited, which was not surprising. It's smart. The prices are unbelievably affordable compared to how large their servings are.

Now, let's talk about their food. If you are a turophile, then Fat Dois is the place for you. But for people like me (not into so much cheese), then just rid of the cheese and focus on the ribs or the chicken meat. Nothing special about it, but it was still good. However, the Kimchi Rice was ridiculously good. It was their version of it and I'd say it was what I liked most. We didn't get to try the other dishes as we've had a lot. We will definitely go back to try everything else just so I can comment on how those were.
